Part Three of What Chuck Said

Author: Steven Kerry Brown
11.05.2013

This is the third installment of what Chuck told me on September 11, 2009. I frankly discounted most of what he said because of the throat slitting/alligator allegations. But later, when allegations about Joe Overstreet threatening both Tommy and Misty with a knife to the throat came out, I reviewed this interview and gave it more credence. In the next installment you’ll see what I did with that information and what the PCSO did with it as well. I’m confident that the PCSO did not find any blood in the mobile home. So I think you’ll find the next installment interesting and it does shed a good light on the PCSO and how they follow up on things.

Chuck stated that Misty was in court the other day and Misty’s brother received a restraining order against Misty because Chuck thinks Misty is crazy.  Chuck feels that she is psychotic because she is into drugs too bad.

Chuck stated that Jerome is the closest person to the girls.  Chuck stated that Danny was living in the apartment with them but Chuck felt that he would not give any information to Steve.

Chuck stated that he did not have any information regarding the back screen door being propped open with a brick.  He felt like it might be a set up.  He stated that the story has changed so many times he is just not sure.

Chuck stated that Greg Paige (White Boy Greg) was actually dating Misty.  Chuck has Greg’s number but was not able to retrieve it from his telephone.  Chuck stated that Greg was questioned extensively by the police after Haleigh went missing.  Chuck stated that Greg was very helpful with the information he provided the police.  Chuck stated that the even the drug dealers are trying to help the police because this is a baby that everyone is looking for.

Greg Page

Chuck stated that White Boy Greg is a drug dealer.  He also stated that Jerome has been a drug dealer for 27 years.  Chuck stated that Greg sells crack, cocaine, pills, weed, everything.  Chuck stated that Greg was dating Misty and that Jerome has actually had sex with Misty.  Chuck stated that at one point Jerome was dating NayNay and at another tine he was dating Amber.  Chuck feels like Jerome will sit down and talk to Steve.

Chuck stated that Amber and NayNay were with another drug dealer and Jerome took them under his care so that he would be able to get information from them so he could find out what happened to the baby.

Jerome Williams

Chuck stated that the police tried to link Jerome to the incident for a while because Ronald owes Jerome about $3,000 to $4,000.  Jerome told the police that it did not matter how much money Ronald or anyone owed him, he would not go after the baby, he would go after the person that owed him the money.

Chuck stated that he does not know who actually carried Haleigh down to the river.  Chuck stated that NayNay keeps saying that Misty is 100 percent behind the crime.  Chuck stated that NayNay cries when she tries to tell the story.

Chuck stated that Cobra, the bounty hunter, has been down there trying to help find the baby, but he has been doing stupid stuff and has gotten in trouble with the police.

Chuck stated that Amber Brooks and Khristina Prevatt are both in the county jail.  Chuck stated that Amber could give Steve a lot of information about Ronald Cummings.

Chuck stated that he was planning to meet with a girl, (redacted), this afternoon and that (redacted) is really good friends with NayNay and Amber.  Chuck stated that he could probably get her drunk and could get some information out of her.  Chuck stated that he would call Steve if she would agree to talk to him.

Part Two of What “Chuck” said.

Author: Steven Kerry Brown
28.04.2013

Chuck stated that he has heard that it is Misty that is responsible for what happened to Haleigh.  Chuck could not get specific information regarding who would have cut Haleigh’s throat.  He stated that everyone is pointing the finger at Misty saying she did it to keep herself from getting in trouble with Ronald.  Chuck stated that they cut her throat so that it would bleed and attract the alligators to the body.  Chuck stated that he got his information from Amber Brooks and Kristina Prevatt.  Chuck stated that Kristina was talking to another individual and he was there listening and that is how he got his information from Kristina.  Chuck stated that she was telling this information to Jerome Williams and a couple of other “brothers”.  Chuck stated that both he and Jerome went to the police with the information.

Chuck stated again that he was not present at the party but Kristina was and he overheard Kristina say that the baby overdosed on drugs and they cut the baby’s throat and threw her into the creek.  Chuck stated that Jerome was there at the same time.  Chuck feels that Jerome knows more about the incident than he does.

Chuck stated at the present time Jerome is in the St. Johns County Jail.  Jerome was originally arrested and put in the Putnam County Jail and he requested to be moved to the St. Johns County Jail because he felt like there were too many people that knew him in Putnam County and he was coming forward with his information to help the police to solve the Haleigh Cummings incident.    Chuck stated that Jerome is black.  Chuck stated that Jerome is the one that took care of these girls, specifically the ones on the street with no where to go.  Chuck stated that although Jerome had his faults he was actually a very kind person.  Jerome was the one that would take the girls in and feed them and clothe them when they did not have any place else to go.

Chuck stated that when Kristina is on cocaine you can get any information out of her that you want.  Chuck stated that the day that Kristina was talking to Jerome she was “pretty high”.  Chuck stated that Kristina would only tell someone in her “group” what had happened when she was high, she would not tell just anyone.  Chuck was not sure which other girls were present at the time, but he thought it was Amber Brooks, and (redacted).  Chuck feels that if kept in confidence ….. at this point Chuck named some names of people that he thought might be willing to talk. These names have been redacted as they are not public figures.

Amber Brooks Mug Shot

Chuck stated that the sheriff’s office told him that they are hearing the same story that Chuck has told them but they won’t follow up on anything until they know it is 100% accurate. Misty has failed four polygraphs. We’ve told the police that Misty is 100% behind this.

Chuck feels that it is more than likely that whoever cut Haleigh’s throat did it at the river because there was no blood in the trailer.  Chuck felt that whoever committed this crime did a real good job of planning the crime.  He felt that they did not want the baby found.  Chuck feels like Misty is involved but because she is so young there had to have been someone there helping her. He did not hear anything about weighing the body down with cinder blocks.

More to come from Chuck.

Haleigh Cummings–What really happened:

Author: Steven Kerry Brown
21.04.2013

Hank Croslin called me one night and said I had to go out right then and talk to Chuck. Chuck knew everything that happened to Haleigh. I met Chuck the next morning at the Dunkin Donuts in Palaka.

When I first talked to Chuck and he mentioned that Haleigh’s throat was cut. I completely dismissed what he told me. Later, I came to believe that this might have indeed happened. It was too outrageous for me to get my head around it at that time. I did record this conversation with Chuck and later gave a copy of the recording to the PCSO. We’ll talk about that later. I changed Chucks name and deleted some other names of people who have not been publicly associated with the Haleigh Cummings case. Those known to be associated with Misty and the events of that night, I have left their names in. This conversation with Chuck was  in September 2009, well before anything had been said about shell harbor.

Steve Brown

The following investigation was conducted by Steven K. Brown of Millennial Investigative Agency on September 11, 2009.  The following individual was present:  Chuck.

Chuck stated that he had a great desire to help in any way that he could to help solve this case.  Amber Brooks and Kristina Prevatt (aka NayNay) were known prostitutes.  Amber has a baby by Ronald Cummings.

Chuck stated that the rumor that he has heard regarding the three day weekend involved Misty Croslin, Amber Brooks, Kristina Prevatt, Greg Paige (aka, White Boy Greg) and Luckadue (Chuck did not know his real name, he thinks Luckadue is his real last name)  Chuck stated that Luckadue is Black and White Boy Greg is mixed.  Chuck stated that all of them have been questioned by the police.  Chuck stated that he was not with the above mentioned people on the weekend in question.  Chuck got his information about the weekend from the girls because they were very close with him. Chuck said he has known them for quite a while.  He said that they would get together and “party”.  Chuck defined partying as getting together and hanging out and drinking and maybe smoking some marijuana.  Chuck stated that the girls would do more drugs, but he did not but he did drink mostly Jim Bean and Crown Royal which is his favorite.  Chuck stated that Misty is known to have a drug problem.  Chuck said that he was aware that she has smoked crack and takes pain pills, etc.  Pills like Roxies and pain pills etc.

Chuck stated that he has heard the following accounts of the morning in question:  They were all partying, they were high, and they were drunk.  The baby got a hold of some narcotics and overdosed on the narcotics.  Chuck stated that there is also a rumor that stated that the baby’s throat got cut and was thrown into the lake.  Chuck said that the people he has heard that was “there” was:  Kristina Prevatt. Amber Brooks was not there because she and Misty had gotten into an argument (about what he was not sure) and they were no longer friends so she left earlier that evening.  Chuck stated that White Boy Greg, Luckadue and Kristina Prevatt and some other people that Chuck did not know were at Misty’s that evening.  Chuck stated that everyone knew that Ronald Cummings was not at the party and most people agree that he was at work.

Now I don’t personally believe the story that Haleigh overdosed on drugs  that caused  Haleigh’s death. We’ll get more into that in the next post. If there is any doubt about Nay Nay’s chosen profession see the below photos taken from the site BackPage:

20.04.2013

I know many of you have been waiting for the next Haleigh Cummings blog post. It has been uploaded and will appear on Sunday, probably in the evening. In the mean time, I’d like you to consider taking a look at my latest book, 5 Things Women Need to Know About the Men They Date.

It is available on Amazon as an e-book for $4.95 and as a paperback for $7.95. Frankly it’s not very long (77 pages) and can be read in one sitting. However, I think you’ll be entertained by the stories as well as learning some things. It’s good for both men and women who are in the dating scene, regardless of your age. For $4.95 don’t take a chance on a new person in your life until you read this book.

This is from the forward in the book:   This book is not a work of fiction. It is based on true cases worked by the author. The names, locations, amounts of money involved, and in some instances other details have been changed to protect the privacy of my clients and also those scumbags who took advantage of my clients.

Whats new with the Haleigh Cummings Case

22.06.2012

I have some more to post on the Haleigh Cummings case but that will be later. Right now here is the breaking news. Ronald Cummings has been moved to the Santa Rosa County Jail. Below is a screen shot of the booking photo. It clearly is “our” Ronald Cummings. Note that no charges are specified so I suspect he’s there for an appeal or maybe a hardship transfer but I don’t know. We’ll have to wait and see. I checked the Clerk of the Courts site in Santa Rosa but didn’t find him listed there.

What Happened To Haleigh Cummings Part 4

Author: Steven Kerry Brown
10.06.2012

I’m posting here some of the interview with Jane. I’ve posted two videos below that were taken of the mobile home on Green Lane. These are courtesy of Kim Picazio. If you watch them closely you’ll see that there are other cinder blocks on the property. Also note the vehicle parked behind the mobile home. This vehicle would not have been visible by Jane and Greg Page if they parked in front of the mobile home as was the usual manner then.

Below is the final installment of my interview with Jane. This deals with her time with Misty in the St. Johns County Jail. I wouldn’t put much faith in Lisa Croslin’s theory concerning Haleigh being taken by a Mexican drug cartel. But you evaluate it as you wish.

Steve:            go ahead

Jane:            OK. Then when I went to jail this recent time in St. Augustine.

Steve:            Wait, wait, wait, when you went to where?

Jane:            St. Augustine Jail.

Steve:            St. Augustine Jail.  Uh hun, when Misty was in there.  Why were you in the St. Augustine Jail?

Jane:            I went there for stealing.  A little stealing charge.

Steve:            Stealing?

Jane:            Yeah, they ended up putting me in the same pod as her and I was talking to her and she had told me she was crying and she was going through it and stuff and she was like, “Jane”, he did it, he did it.  And I’m like, who did it?  And then she was like my cousin.  He’s done raped me before, he told me he would put, um would kill me, put a knife to my throat, he told me he took her.  I know he took Haleigh.  And I said, “He took Haleigh? So why didn’t you tell the police that?”  And she said, “I did, I did.”  And that’s when I went and told the police, I said, I need to write an Affidavit because this girl just told me who took that little baby. And like I said my kid died.  I know how it feels to have a baby loss and when she told me about Haleigh that’s when I wrote an Affidavit.

Steve:            And you gave it to?

Jane:            And then the mother.

Steve:            Crystal Shefield?

Jane:            Um, Misty’s mother.

Steve:            Oh, um, Lisa Croslin?

Jane:            Lisa Croslin.  This is something that I didn’t say when I was in here.  She said that she owed a bunch of Mexicans money.  She said it had to have been the Mexicans that take Haleigh.  I said well Misty never mentioned Mexicans to me.  And she said yeah, but her momma owed a bunch of Mexicans and I’m pretty sure that the Mexicans got that little girl because they owed them that for the drugs.  I said I don’t know about that.

Steve:            So how long ago did you share a cell with Misty at St. Johns County?

Jane:            Yes.

Steve:            For how long?

Jane:            Five days.

Steve:            OK.  Alright.  Did you know Misty before that night when you and Greg were over there selling them drugs?

Jane:            No.

Steve:            You didn’t used to run with her or anything?

Jane:            No.  Well her and Nay Nay did.

Steve:            Yeah

Jane:            I met her a couple of times through that.

Steve:            Her and Nay Nay ran with Greg, you mean?

Jane:            Yeah.  Well I never met her through that but I know her through Nay Nay.  Like I’ll see her and say, “Hey, what’s up?” and then leave.

In this video above you’ll see cinderblocks around the mobile home. It was stated by Misty and Ron that they knew of no cinderblocks around the home. But I saw a pile of them behind the mobile home, maybe 10 feet into the woods. The mobile home itself, of course, is raised and supported on cinder blocks.

Below is the signed statement that Jane wrote. I wanted to post the original but I don’t have a scanner hooked up to this computer here in my hospital room so you’ll have to make do with this on that I typed. Misspellings belong to Jane.

12/21/11

I “Jane”, was with Gregory Page the night of Halegh Cummin disappearance. Me and Gred had came  to see Missy Croslin cause Greg was selling her cocaine and extacy. We went to the trailer on green ln 3 times that night. each time Misty, Tommy her brother and Joe Overstreet were there. They were all doing the drugs Gregory sold them. I did not see Hailegh but I never left the cart.

Each time they come out the trailer they come out the side door. This all occurred from 3 pm to 8 pm. Ronald was not thee. I spent 5 days in the St. Johns County jail with Misty and she told me that Joe her cusin use to rape her and put a knife to her throught. That he was the one who killed haliegh.

This was witnessed by myself and by a deputy in the Putnam County Jail on 12/21/11.

29.05.2012

This is the third installment of an interview I did with “Jane” in the Putnam County Jail. The next post will contain a copy of the signed statement she gave me. I have it on good authority that the PCSO has been interviewing “Jane.” What she told them I don’t know, but as I understand from non-LE sources, she has confirmed some of what she told me. The exact details of what she’s confirmed to them I don’t know because the PCSO doesn’t talk to me. As I mentioned before, it is a one-way-street between the PCSO and myself. Nevertheless, I’m heartened to know that “Jane” has confirmed some of this story to them. I don’t know what steps they have taken beyond that. I won’t speculate on the significance of this material. But it appears to me that we have two more witnesses to the fact that Misty was indeed home at the mobile home on Green Lane the night that Haleigh disappeared.

I believe the photo below of Joe Overstreet below comes from Cranky Crankerson’s photo bucket and I appreciate all of the photos that he and others have archived. This photo was found by one of the loyal posters on this blog.

Steve:            OK  What else you got, anything else?

Jane:            Hum, no that’s….

Steve:            Where did you and Greg go after, um, where did you spend that night?

Jane:            We went back to Stokes Landing, Chad Elliot’s house.

Steve:            OK.  OK. Now, did you see Joe Overstreet with a knife, like a knife on his belt or anything like that?  A pocket knife?

Jane:            And she kept on saying she knows her cousin did it.  She knows he did it.  She knows so.  And then it’s funny because all of a sudden he just left out of Florida.

Steve:            Yeah, the next day.

Jane:            The next day he left out of Florida.  So I know, I mean it’s obvious.

Steve:            OK.  I find it interesting that you recall them coming out of that side door, but that’s what you saw, right?

Jane:            That night, um, he always carries a knife on his pocket.

Steve:            So you’ve met Joe before?

Jane:            Yeah, like I’ve seen him before.  But yeah, he is always using it to clean his nails out and stuff like that, but yes he always has a knife on him.  That is also in the Affidavit.

Joe Hanging Flyers

Jane:            Yeah, that’s what I saw.

Steve:            But you didn’t see any car or vehicle parked over there?

Jane:            I didn’t recall, I didn’t see no, unless they were parked, unless we were parked some type of way we might not see it.

Steve:            You might not, you may not have been able to have seen it from the driveway, you might have.  I don’t think you can actually see the door, but you could see them coming out of the side there.

Jane:            Yeah.  The way we were parked I’m not sure, but.  Yes.  But it was them three there and we was serving them cocaine and beans.  Well Gregory Page was.

Steve:            Cocaine and beans?

Jane:            Ecstasy pills.

Steve:            That’s what you call ecstasy, beans?

Jane:            Yes, that’s what Gregory Page was serving them.  I never touched it.  That’s what he served.

Steve:             Do you know, now, did Gregory every tell the Sheriff’s Office this stuff you were talking about?

Jane:            Yeah, he has been on the news about it.

Steve:            I know but I’ve never heard before now that…

Jane:            I don’t think he is telling them that he served them.

Steve:            Yeah.  I don’t think I’ve ever heard before, I mean I’ve been working this case for a long time, that, um Tommy and Joe Overstreet were over there at 7 or 8 o’clock at night.

Jane:            Yeah, they were there.  They was there.

Steve:            I wonder where were Tommy’s little kids?

Jane:            Tommy’s little kids are probably inside with Haleigh and them.  The kids were inside probably watching TV or playing.

Steve:            You never went inside so you don’t know.

Jane:            I never went inside.  I always stayed outside in the car watching them.

Mobile Home on Green Lane

Steve:            And you didn’t see Haleigh at all?

Jane:            Just talked to them.

Steve:            Hum?

Jane:            I just said I was just talking to Misty and them.  That was it.

Steve:            Yeah.

Jane:            Seen them all out there.  I was there that night it happened.  That’s why I was so shocked when it happened, I was like, I was just over there.  That’s why Misty, um, Nay Nay was like talk to him because you was there, you know.

Steve:            Yeah.   OK.  Well what I’m going to do is ask them to un-handcuff you because then I want you to write out just a few sentences and sign it, OK?  In case something disappears.  So I’m going to pause this for a minute.  Alright.

Steve:            OK, um, so Jane, just gave me a signed statement as to the things we have talked about.

As you can see from above, Nay Nay encouraged “Jane” to talk to me. I give credit to Kristina Prevatt, aka Nay Nay for doing the right thing and suggesting to “Jane” that she call me, which she did.

In the next installment we’ll talk about “Jane’s” time in the St. Johns County jail when she was in the same Pod as Misty and what Jane says that Misty told her.

08.05.2012

I’ve reproduced below some more of the recorded statement I took from “Jane.” Some of what she says has “the ring of truth” to it. I’ll leave it up to you readers to decide what is true. I am hoping that the PCSO will followup on these statements. If true, then that would put Joe Overstreet at the mobile home on the night of Haleigh’s disappearance and the observation is not coming from a family member, but from a disinterested third party who barely even knows any of the family. There is one more part to Jane’s statement which I will post in a week or so.

Steve:            Gregory said he would come back?  Gregory Page?

Jane:            He said he would.  He said I’ll hit you up, I’ll come back, I’ll come back I promise.  And then like I said, they I was just went over there another time and served them again.

Steve:            OK now what time was this second time?

Jane:            Well, OK the first time was about two or three, the second time was about five, five-ish by the third time is was about like eight.

Steve:            8:00 PM and the same people were there all three times?

Jane:            Yeah, there was another girl also that was a young little girl, the second time, there was a young little girl that was with Haleigh, um, not Haleigh with Misty.

Steve:            Haleigh was the young little girl.  But you say but this young girl, how young are you talking about?

Jane:            About the same age as Misty.

Steve:            So she’s seventeen or sixteen.

Jane:            Yes.  She was also on the drugs also but then…

Steve:            And you don’t know her name.

Jane:            I didn’t know her name.  She was there also.

Steve:            You don’t know it now, though?

Jane:            Um

Steve:            White girl?

Jane:            Yeah, she was a white girl.  She was a young girl.  But I didn’t know, I don’t know who she is.  But I do know that I did see them their that night.  They were all on cocaine and ecstasy pills.

Steve:            Um huh

Jane:            That was the main thing that they were all on every single one of them.

Steve:            OK.  Let’s talk about vehicles.  Do you remember what vehicles were out there that night?

Jane:            Um, not really, no.  I didn’t see no vehicles.

Steve:            OK

Jane:            I didn’t see none of them.

Steve:            Well they must have gotten there some how.

Jane:            Yeah, yeah, I didn’t see no vehicles.

Steve:            OK

Jane:            At all

Steve:            Alright.  When you went in that trailer.  Did you go in?

Jane:            I didn’t never go inside.

Steve:            OK

Jane:            We sat in the car in the driveway.

Steve:            While they came out?

Jane:            Yeah, all of them came out.

Steve:            And did they come out through the…

Jane:            Side door.

Steve:            The side door?

Jane:            Yeah

Steve:            Not the front door with the screened in porch and stuff?

Jane:            Unh-unh

Steve:            They came out the side door?

Jane:            They kept coming out the side door.

The Mobile Home On Green Lane

Steve:            Hum.  OK.

Jane:            Misty, no Misty came out on the front screened in porch one time.  She did do that.  But then she screened, she shut the screen door because she was mad at I think it was her brother that made her mad or something.

MISTY CROSLIN

Steve:            Tommy?

Jane:            Yeah because he said something about Ronald.  But it was them three, they were all messed up, they kept calling us back and forth over there, over there, over there for more drugs.

Steve:            Alright.  How much…

Steve:            OK.

Steve:            And how did you happen, how did it happen that you were with Greg?

Jane:            Because me and Greg are like best friends.

Steve:            So you knew he and Misty had hooked up that weekend.

Jane:            Yes.

Steve:            Alright.

Jane:            Gregory Page and Misty had hooked up that weekend.  Yes, that did happen.

Steve:            OK.  And who was making the calls to Greg to bring the drugs over.

Jane:            Misty

Steve:            Misty was making them?

Jane:            Yes.

Steve:            Cocaine and ecstasy.

Jane:            She kept saying, “Baby when are you coming in?  Are you coming?  Hurry up.”  That’s exactly what she kept saying.

Steve:            OK.  Do you know how much they spent?  How much they paid Greg altogether that night?

Jane:            I just know quite a few.  A little bit.  She would have spent, um, at least that night, she would spend at least six or seven hundred.

Steve:            Six or seven hundred?

Jane:            Yes, that night.

Steve:            Oh really?  Where did she get the money from, do you know?

Jane:            I have no idea.  She used to trick.

Steve:            She used to trick?

Jane:            Yes.

Steve:            Yeah.

Jane:            She used to trick.

Steve:            How much did she make doing that do you know?

Jane:            I have no idea about that.  But I know she used to trick.  I know a lot of people she associates with.  Her and Nay Nay both.

Jane:            Yeah, I know a lot of people that they mess with.

Steve:            Hum.  OK.  So the last time you were there that night, this was the night that Haleigh disappeared, Ronald was at work and this was like 8:00 PM, 8 or 9 PM something like that, right?

Jane:            Yes

Steve:            And, um, Joe Overstreet was there, Tommy was there and Misty was there.

Jane:            Yeah, Tommy was there.  Yeah.  I didn’t see the girl that time.  This was the third time.  I didn’t see her there.  Maybe she was inside…

Steve:            The fifteen or sixteen year old or whoever?

Jane:            Yeah, maybe she was inside or something.  Them three were the main ones outside again.  But, um, I remember one of these was rolling off the ecstasy because he was like,

Steve:            Who was?

Jane:            Tommy, he was like whoooo like this and kept going like this to his face.  And Misty was like (sniff) that’s some good powder man, that’s some good powder.  That’s why I never knew how she fell asleep and did not know that the baby was missing because we was giving her powder and she saying how good the powder was but then she said she was sleeping when the baby when missing.  That never made sense.

Steve:            Well, we know that’s not true.

Jane:            Yeah.  So I don’t see how she could have went to sleep and been fucked up on them drugs and ecstasy pills, you can’t sleep on them.  Them things keep you awake too just like cocaine.  So we were serving her both of them.  I was a witness that seen it, I heard it.  I seen the money get transferred.  I seen her go like this (wipe her nose) about how good it was.

Steve:            Now, the tape recorder can’t see what you are saying, but you are brushing your nose, right?

Jane:            Yeah, she keeps wiping her nose like, she would wipe her nose constantly talking about it’s good powder, wiping her nose, it’s good powder, it’s good powder.  So there is no way she could have fell asleep.  But then again she said she knows her cousin did it because he would rape her.  He raped her before.

Steve:            Misty?

Jane:            Yeah.

Steve:            But not Haleigh, Misty you mean?

Jane:            Yeah, he raped Misty before, duh, duh, duh so she knows he did it.  So I’m like, OK and that’s when I, that’s when I rung the bell so to speak.

Steve:            Did she ever say she saw him do it?

Jane:            No she never said she saw him do it.  She said she knows he did it though.

Jane:            Yeah.  I pretty much, now I’ve seen everything.

Steve:            Yeah, well except you weren’t there…

Jane:            Yeah, when Haleigh went missing.  Oh yeah, no, or that would have done been found a long time ago.  But I know the three that were there and I know all three of them were messed up on ecstasy and cocaine so there ain’t no way Haleigh could have been sleeping.  There ain’t no way.

Steve:            Misty you mean?

Jane:            Yeah, Misty I mean.  There ain’t no way Misty could have been sleeping messed up on drugs like that.

What’s New in the Haleigh Case?

I know that many of you have been waiting patiently for this blog. Well, some not so patiently. Health issues have seemed to interfere with my life lately. Because of these health issues I went to the PCSO two weeks ago and gave them some lead material that I won’t have a chance to follow-up on myself. What did I give them and who did I see?

I met with Captain Dominick Piscitello, who I’ve met with on a number of occasions in the past. I also was introduced to Lieutenant Ricky Lyle, Major Crimes Supervisor. I am convinced that the PCSO has done what they could to bring Haleigh home. She has not been forgotten by them. When you walk into the front office her photo is on the table in the corner. Her poster is the first thing you see if you walk into the Investigative Divsion.

PCSO Front Office

Remember, when I meet with the PCSO it’s like walking down a one way street. I give them information, but receive nothing in return. And that’s okay. This time when I met with Captain Piscitello and Lieutenant Lyle I suggested an area that I thought should be searched with cadaver dogs. Did Haleigh go into the river? I’m not as firmly convinced now of that as I was before. There is a small localized specific area that should be searched. I’ve come to that conclusion after my many visits with Tommy Croslin and specifically after my last visit with him in prison last month. I don’t know if the PCSO has followed up on that suggestion or not. If they have, then I guess it was not productive but I’m surprised that news of the search itself was not reported. If it hasn’t been done, it should be as that is a pretty inexpensive “wild goose chase.” A lot less expensive than searching Shell Harbor or draining the Mondex.

I also gave Captain Piscitello some additional information which will not “solve the case” but might help in better establishing who visited the mobile home on Green lane that night. Below is some of what I provided to them. As far as I could tell, this was new information to them.

Some months ago I was telephonically  called by a then female inmate at the PCSO jail. She had seen me talking to Kristina Prevatte, aka Nay Nay and asked Nay Nay what we were discussing. She then began to tell Nay Nay about her experience the night that Haleigh disappeared and Nay Nay told her to call me. I will not name this female, as she is not a public figure. I did, of course, give all of her identifying information to Captain Piscitello. For purposes of this blog, let’s call her Jane. I could not interview her over the phone as she would not talk. She insisted on a face to face. I tried several times to track her down in Putnam County but could not locate her. Finally I started checking the jail logs every day and sure enough, in a while she was back in jail. So I interviewed her there. Recorded our interview and also took a signed statement from her.

Among other things, Jane told me that in the early evening hours of February 9, 2009 she was riding in a car with Greg Page. Greg received several phone calls from Misty Croslin asking Greg to come over to the mobile home on Green Lane bring her some drugs. Here is a partial transcript of my interview with her which will raise more questions than answers.

Greg Page, aka White Boy Greg

There are several things to remember here. 1st, You have to ask if she is sure this occurred on February 9, 2009 and not some other night? 2nd. Did she see Timmy Croslin and not Tommy Croslin. Timmy and Joe were together at that time. She did not know the Croslins prior to this encounter and only identified them later because Tommy’s photo was in the news. I talked to Tommy about this last month when I visited him in prison and he did not recognize the photo of Jane that I showed to him. He denied that this happened and in this case I believe him. Which makes me wonder if it was Timmy and not Tommy. Several months after Misty was arrested  Jane had occasion to spend some time with Misty in the St. Johns County jail and we will get to that in the next blog post.

Steve:            So we will start from the beginning.  I don’t need to know about the weekend before OK, um, but that, that night that she disappeared.

Jane:            That specific night.  OK

Steve:            So as I understand it, you were over at the trailer on Green Lane, what, three times that night?

Jane:            Yeah, like about two or three times with Gregory Page serving her.

Steve:            By serving her you mean?

Jane:            He was selling her like, um, pills and cocaine.

Steve:            Do you know specifically what he was selling to Misty.

Jane:            Cocaine and ecstasy pills.

Steve:            Cocaine and ecstasy?  OK

Jane:            Yes.  So I was riding with him over there…

Steve:            Uh hum, what was he driving, do you remember?

Jane:            We was in a little green car.

Steve:            Little green car?

Jane:            A Ford Taurus, I think it was.

Steve:            OK

Jane:            OK, so we went over there.  We served them about two or three times.

Steve:            Wait, wait, slow down you did what now?

Jane:            We served her the ecstasy and the cocaine.

Steve:            But, three times?  Why three times?

Jane:            Because she kept calling back and I guess every time they ran out of cocaine they were jonesings for more.

Steve:            OK and you say, “they were jonesing”, who are we talking about, they?

Jane:            Um, Misty, her cousin, and her brother.

Steve:            Her cousin, Joe Overstreet?

Jane:            Yeah, he was outside on the cell phone also when I pulled up.

Steve:            OK.  And which brother are we talking about?

Jane:            This is the one that was in the news.

Steve:            Tommy, then.

Jane:            Yes.

Steve:            OK, the other brother wasn’t there, Timmy?

Jane:            No, I just know it was the cousin, um, what’s his name?

Steve:            Joe Overstreet

Jane:            Joe, it’s just Joe.  Yeah, Joe.  OK

Steve:            And Tommy Croslin and Misty were there.

Jane:            Tommy was the one that was outside on the phone saying man this needs to come on quicker and then Misty said what are you talking about the drugs are here and then…

Steve:            Misty said that?

Jane:            Yeah, Misty said that.  So they are all there.  They are all getting messed up on cocaine, ecstasy pills.  She kept asking the guy that was with me, which was Gregory Page, if he wanted to come stay with her for a little while, while Ronald was at work or whatever.

Steve:            Wait, wait, slow down.  Who asked Greg?

Jane:            Misty.

Steve:            Misty asked Gregory if he wanted to stay with her for awhile while Ronald was at work?

Jane:            Yes and he told her he’ll come back, he’d come back and I don’t know if he ever came back that night.

Steve:            Gregory said he would come back?  Gregory Page?

Jane:            He said he would.  He said I’ll hit you up, I’ll come back, I’ll come back I promise.  And then like I said, they I was just went over there another time and served them again.
